Phnom Penh
Aight, gotta be honest here – I was freaking terrified before heading to Cambodia’s Capital, due to all the nice stories I´ve heard about it.
Therefor I have originally planned to only stay for one day – that somehow turned into almost a week.
I arrived there at night, and immediately fell in love with the lights and lampions that are literally EVERYWHERE! True, it´s hella dirty and smelly BUT I still managed to walk barefoot all the time, so can´t be that bad lol.
Not only is the city absolutely gorgeous at nighttime, but also during the day. Spend it at the river, in one of the nice cafes, at the markets or by visiting one of the temples – whatever you do here is gonna be good!
Plus, in Phnim Penh I finally found a way of making the Cambodians smile - it´s freaking easy to be honest. You just gotta put your running shoes on and start moving! It´s like they never saw a running person before, I felt like THE attraction while working out lol.
One woman even offered me to take me with her on her Tuk Tuk bakery store, because she thought I´m looking all tired and sweaty and shouldn´t have to go for 5 more kilometers :D Sweetheart! Finally!
We even found a really nice party in PP (if you´re into HipHop and R n´B. Which I´m not. So it wasn´t really my thing. But the place was cool anyway!)
The club´s called "Pontoon" and I was told before, that this is the only place that´s comparable to partys in Germany/Europe which was true - all the other party’s were completely shitty, and this one was quite okayish :)
Actually, the only thing I really hated about Phnom Penh were the hostels, but I guess that´s my own fault for travelling with THAT low budget lol.
