Prachuap Khiri khan
Travelling Thailands east coast at the end of the season is a great thing – because you get to see places like Prachuap, which are probably horrible during high season, but super nice and chill just before the monsoon.
The beach at Prachuap seems to be endlessly long – and empty!
Only in the very south can be found some tourists and some fisher boats at the very north, but that´s more than okay ^^
There´re plenty of National parks and waterfalls around the city, but since it was very hot, the only touristy thing we did was visiting the What Thammirakan temple, inhabited by a horde of maniac monkeys.
temple, on top of the monkey mountain.
I thought monkeys were sweet chill animals. Until that day, they destroyed my moms bicycle´s seat (which was kinda funny), and ruined my bra while trying to steal it (Sexual little bastards!).
Yeah might be my mistake to knot the wet bra on my bag to let it dry. I mean, I should have known that monkeys are in desperate need of wet bras. Shit!
Anyway, the view from the mountain was amazing and totally worth the sweat and tears (mostly coming from scary, staring monkeys and less from the five hundred stairs we had to climb). You got the sea on one side, while the city, guarded by mountains in the distance is on your other.
Prachuap also was the only place, where we accidentally ran into a NICE night market. It´s a commonly known thing that there´s night markets everywhere in Asia, but I experienced most of them as quite boring after a while. Not that one! It was combined with a “second hand market” thingy, therefor super crowded. But anyhow, it was great fun to stroll along the market, seeing the exotic food and horrible quality fake clothing ^^
Unfortunately, most of the food on the market was with meat, but the food we had in Prachuap generally was DELICIOUS and cheap – all I ever asked for. So yeah, Prachuap really was an okayish place, with affordable and clean hotels directly at the beach!
Just don´t get too close to the monkeys lol.
