Tangalle

Tangalle is kinda famous for its beaches - you can´t feel softer sand or clearer water anywhere else! I found everything there, from stony beaches which were great for snorkeling to white sanded, never ending beaches that made you feel like staying there forever.

The most beautiful beach of all is called "Silent Beach", and it really is what its name promises. Even though there are "many" people, it´s really calm and quiet, since the beach is really long and the people are spreading across it, not only staying in one spot.

In case that one gets hungry or thirsty, there´s a small beach bar at the beaches beginning. Prices are a bit too high, compared to other bars, but the seat options are somehow equaling up for that, since one can enjoy it´s drink in a fancy hammock or a small tree house.

The rest of the beach is lined by shade giving palm trees, which make it the perfect chilling area.
Unfortunately, the waves were super strong and high on the day we arrived, so we couldn´t really go swimming - just watering our legs a bit. But just standing there watching the crashing waves was fun anyway!

My personal highlight of the beach were the shells and the "Mother Gods eyes" (or however you call them in English. I mean the polished ends of shells... The white ones with brown spirals...)

I collected about 300 there (not kidding!!!) and they´re usually so rare!

But at the Silent Beach, you´d see at least five of them with every step you take.

Another thing that you can´t find everywhere, but in Tangalle is a Blow Hole – a pretty big one tho!
It´s kind of a shame that you have to pay 250RS of entry fee to get there, but they´re making money with whatever they can find ^^
And paying this 1.25$ was definitively worth it – not only because you´re getting a free salt water shower when standing at the wrong spot by the blow hole :D
It´s a super great nature phenome that you should definitively watch when being around 😊
